The older I get, the clearer it becomes β how you start your day shapes everything that follows.
Your first twenty minutes in the morning are sacred. What you give your attention to during that time configures your focus, your mood, and your energy for the rest of the day.
I came across this truth toward the end of 2023, and it changed everything for me. I decided to become intentional about my mornings. Before I check my phone or think about responsibilities, I choose stillness. I speak great things to myself. I reflect on one or two moments from the previous day β release any frustration or disappointment β and then I set my intention for the day ahead.
Itβs simple, yet powerful. The mind responds to direction. When you train it to start with peace and gratitude, it begins to seek that energy throughout the day. When you wake with calm, you think clearer. When you wake with gratitude, you attract better moments.
Hereβs how I do it:
Morning Ritual
- I wake up and take a deep breath.
- I remind myself: βI choose to remain positive and calm today.β
- I think of one thing Iβm grateful for.
- I let go of yesterdayβs noise and allow todayβs peace to guide me.
Night Ritual
- Before bed, I breathe deeply again.
- I whisper to myself: βI release todayβs stress and welcome a new, peaceful tomorrow.β
These two moments β morning and night β are how I anchor myself. They help me remain centered, focused, and unshaken by whatever the day brings.
Now, take a moment and ask yourself:
- How do I want today to go?
- What energy do I want to carry into my world?
- Who do I want to be when life tests my calm?
Lock in on that feeling β and lead with it.
Because when you learn to set the tone for your day, you stop reacting to life and start creating it.
